We want to extend our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the recent attacks in Paris and Beirut. This is a tragedy on so many levels. For those who have lost their loved ones and their sense of safety. And also for all of those working to build co-existence and promote tolerance and respect. It will be a long-term struggle to combat further divisions and otherizing. The response must be to provide support to all families. Those affected by the tragedy and also those who will bear the brunt of the rebuilding efforts. We must invest in improved community engagement, building trusted networks to safeguard the new generation from toxic ideologies that reduce our shared humanity. Our hope lies with the youth to deconstruct the rising barriers; and the mothers and fathers who raise and guide them.
