Sustainable peace requires the full participation of women at all stages of peace processes. Their involvement in decision making and all mechanisms which prevent conflicts and stop war is essential. The symposium, organised by the Austrian Development Cooperation, will focus on gender roles in armed conflicts, on sharing experience in implementing Security Council Resolution 1325 and on recommendations and conclusions for development cooperation programmes.
